Sunday July 9th

Ooooo a self-ish Sunday?? Is it really happening?!?

Yippie! It really is a Sunday and I got a majority of the day to do my thang 😎 This morning I woke up and hit the gym around 7ish. It was so quiet there I was thriving. I think Sundays are my favorite morning to work out because of that. Either people are sleeping in from the Saturday night festivities or maybe waiting till after church I'm not sure, but either way, I hope they keep doing their thing because I was living the dream.

I got to sit outside for a little with my parents before they had to get ready to leave for work. We are finally getting some semi-nice weather AND we are no longer suffocating from the smoke. So that is a plus…

I did have work today so I wasn’t able to have the entire day to myself but we can definitely consider making money to be self-ish.

I decided today was going to be a typical refresh day, which always feels great. I finally unpacked from me and Sophie’s girls' trip to Nashville last weekend, did a bunch of laundry, and straightened up my room because it was a mess. If you are reading this and you personally know me, you are probably thinking “Shelby I doubt your room was really that bad”. If you just laughed and nodded your head then congrats you know me well. But that’s not the point, to me it was messy, and just by having my counters cleared and random articles of clothing here and there finally put away, I instantly felt so much better. Once everything is clean and the way I wanted it to be, I like to light a candle, turn on my essential oils machine, and spray my fresh room spray. Instantly a new room, she was glowing. I probably could have laid in there and done absolutely nothing the rest of the day (which sounded kinda amazing honestly), but I can lay and sleep when Im dead. No time for that. (Not saying that sometimes laying around and doing nothing isn’t much needed).

I threw a quick coat of polish on my nails and then took Ted (my dog) with me to Panera for lunch. We just went through the drive through and we sat outside together, it was super cute He is adorable in the car besides when he tries to launch himself onto my lap while I am driving… that’s always fun.

I went to work for a few hours and ended the night hanging with my cousin for a little bit before they had to leave for the hospital because they are having a babyyyyyyy!!! I AM SO STOKED FOR BABY CUDDLES😍👶🏻🍼

So, this Sunday wasn’t anything too extravagant, but it was definitely needed. I feel a little bit more put together and I am proud that I actually went and have lunch semi alone. I haven’t done that in a decade it feels like.

You don’t need to dedicate the entire day to being self-ish, as long as you purposely make an effort to focus on yourself at one point. A little something is better than nothing at all:)
